The stock MINI Cooper cylinder head suffers from poor airflow as a result of small intake and exhaust ports and a very rough interior surface. Our cylinder head features larger ported and polished intake and exhaust ports which improve airflow dramatically. Larger exhaust valves are also included for additional horsepower. We use 1.25mm larger Ferra Incanal exhaust valves. The MINI Cooper stock head uses this same high quality metal in its exhaust valves which is rare for a stock cylinder head; we use the same valves only larger. MINI's that regularly see track use will benefit from greatly from our larger intake valves. These valves make dramatic improvements at high rpm's and are only recommended for MINI Cooper's that see the rev limiter often during track use or racing.
A 10-15hp gain and more can be gained with the head work alone or gain additional horsepower with more modifications. This cylinder head takes the best from what we have learned from the Car and Driver Challenge and our sponsored racers in the field as well as everyday street driving and lapping days at the track.

NOTE on the above charts. Other manufacturers claim higher flow numbers by flow testing their heads to .500 lift. This inflates flow numbers but is inaccurate because the Schrick cam never opens the valves this far. .400 is the maximum lift for the Schrick Cam.
